Owned and operated by Eddy and Robin Smith, Smith Kennels has been dedicated to producing exceptional bird dogs
since its establishment in 1985.
Since 1985 Eddy has campaigned champions in the NBHA, ABHA, US Complete and
Shoot-to-Retrieve field trial circuits and has won 8 National Championship and 5 Runner-Up titles. Selective
breeding, hard work and fundamental training methods have enabled Eddy to achieve great success in walking
field trial stakes.
Along with his field trial record, Eddy has trained countless dogs for wild bird hunters and commercial hunting
preserves and plantations alike. Since 1999, Smith Kennels has supplied over forty bird dogs for the handlers of
Burnt Pine Plantation in Madison, Georgia. In April 2001, Eddy and Robin traveled to South Africa to assist a
ground level bird hunting operation by training the South African handlers and providing them with a string of
pointers raised and trained at Smith Kennels.
Smith Kennels would like to welcome its newest member, Gordie White of Canada, a lifelong bird hunter. After
graduating from Concordia University in 1992, Gordie began his hunting career, professionally guiding hunters throughout
Canada and Montana. Gordie also spent four seasons working with a safari company in Zimbabwe. For the last five
years, he has held a management position with a successful hunting plantation in Georgia. He has spent three
years competing in NBHA field trials.
